Jaccuzi Jet 20YJ

In 1972 the Jacuzzi 20YJ waterjet propulsion system were installed in the new US Navy Mini Attack Troop Carrier Boats. The original set up produced a top speed of 26 knots. North American Marine Jet Inc started a re-power project that included converted the existing 20YJ jet drives into N20 now know as the N800.1. The conversions was very cost effective and produce a top speed of over 40 knots. The MATC is used all over the world today, but mainly in Columbia as part of a joint task force to fight drug trafficking.

Today there are hundreds of MATC that are reliably serving nations throughout the world.

The 20YJ has been redesigned into the N800 series to perform with higher powered diesels up to 800 hp. One of the most unique design features of the 20YJ and N800 is a shim able impeller clearance without removal of impeller or replacement of the wear ring.
